Elvio Cogno's Montegrilli Nebbiolo 2024 is an authentic and refined interpretation of Langhe Nebbiolo, designed to express finesse, territoriality, and drinkability. In the glass, it displays a luminous ruby red with subtle garnet highlights. On the nose, clear aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry, rose, and violet emerge, accompanied by light spicy notes and a delicate minerality. The palate is elegant and harmonious, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a clean, persistent finish. A Nebbiolo of great balance, capable of combining immediacy with aging potential.
Production Method: Conventional. The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo , sourced from vineyards located in the municipality of Novello and the western Langhe. The harvest is manual, with careful selection of the bunches. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with moderate maceration on the skins to preserve aromatic elegance and tannic finesse. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages primarily in large oak barrels for several months, followed by a period of bottle aging before release.
Pairings: Perfect with Piedmontese first courses, tajarin with ragù, roast white meats, veal, poultry, cured meats, and semi-mature cheeses. Also excellent throughout the meal.
