Massolino 's 2020 Barolo "Parussi" is a wine of great character, sourced from the eponymous cru located in Castiglione Falletto, outside the traditional Serralunga d'Alba boundary. Its altitude of approximately 290 meters, the calcareous marl soil, and the southeast/southwest exposure give the wine a distinct and refined structure. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby color verging on garnet. On the nose, intense notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, tobacco, sandalwood, and leather emerge, with a mineral undertone that reflects the unique terroir of the Parussi cru.

On the palate, it displays a full structure, with evident yet smooth tannins, a well-balanced freshness, and remarkable persistence. The finish is long and harmonious, a testament to the excellent workmanship and quality of the grapes. This wine is suitable for cellaring but already highly satisfying even now.

Conventional Production Method , The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo, coming from the “Parussi” cru vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, The vinification is traditional: long-term fermentation and maceration in oak or concrete vats, at a controlled temperature (around 30 °C) and subsequent maturation in large Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 30 months, followed by refinement in the bottle.

The calcareous soil gives Parussi wines more vigorous tannins and a depth that refines over time.

Pairings : Ideal with rich, substantial dishes: roast beef, braised meats, game (wild boar, venison), roast lamb, and mature, complex cheeses. It is also excellent in meditative or tasting contexts, where the bottle becomes a moment of reflection.
