Massolino 's Barbaresco 2021 DOCG is a refined expression of the Nebbiolo grape in the Barbaresco appellation, a land of elegance and finesse. In the glass, it displays a vibrant, luminous medium garnet red. On the nose, notes of fresh cherry, raspberry, rose petals, and violet emerge, accompanied by subtle earthy and mineral notes that beautifully convey the terroir. On the palate, it is harmonious and balanced: fine tannins, good acidity, and an elegant finish that invites further sipping. Perfect for those seeking a traditionally styled Barbaresco that's drinkable today, yet destined to evolve.
Conventional Production Method : 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the Massolino estate vineyards in the Barbaresco area. Harvesting is done by hand, followed by controlled fermentation in stainless steel with maceration to extract structure and finesse. Aged for approximately 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottle aging before release.
Pairings: It pairs perfectly with Piedmontese dishes: roast red meats, veal with truffles, light game, and medium-aged cheeses. It is also ideal for meditative tastings, when you want to explore the complexity of Nebbiolo.
