Luca Gungui's Berteru 2024 is a Cannonau that captures the authentic essence of Mamoiada, a small artisanal gem produced from 60-year-old vines grown organically on granite soils at 600-700 meters above sea level. This deep ruby red releases an intense bouquet of blackberries, raspberries, and ripe black fruit, with nuances of myrtle, vanilla, and a delicate minerality reminiscent of the Sardinian soil. On the palate, it is warm, full, and rounded, with soft tannins and a surprising freshness, concluding with a long, spicy finish. The hand-numbered labels reflect Luca's dedication to each bottle, making this wine a sincere tribute to tradition and the terroir. Certified organic production method , hand-harvested from a vineyard of approximately 1 hectare in Sas de Melas, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in PVC or stainless steel tanks for 12-15 days, lengthy maceration on the skins to extract color and structure, aging for several months in stainless steel (sometimes with a brief stint in 1000-liter oak barrels for some batches), manual bottling without filtration, hand-labeling. Production limited to approximately 3,000-4,000 bottles.
