Massolino 's 2021 Magnum DOCG Barolo embodies the Serralunga d'Alba terroir: in its magnum format, it ensures a slow evolution and a harmonious unfolding over time. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red, and on the nose it reveals elegant notes of ripe red fruits, dried roses, licorice, sweet tobacco, and a mineral undertone reminiscent of the vineyard's stone. On the palate, it is broad and powerful, with fine, well-integrated tannins, a lively freshness, and a long, persistent finish. The magnum format enhances its aging potential, making it ideal for long-term storage or celebratory occasions.
Conventional Production Method : The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo, harvested from the company's vineyards in the Serralunga d'Alba area. Vinification follows the traditional method with prolonged maceration and fermentation in steel or concrete tanks. Aged for at least 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
Pairings: Perfect with structured, rich dishes: roast red meats, braised meats, game, and very mature cheeses. The Magnum format also makes it suitable for celebrations or leisurely tastings, where participating in the slow evolution is part of the pleasure.
