Massolino 's Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda 2019 DOCG is the supreme expression of the Vigna Rionda cru in Serralunga d'Alba: a wine that combines power and grace in a rare balance. In the glass, it presents an intense and deep garnet color. On the nose, it releases sophisticated aromas of ripe cherry and plum, complemented by dried rose, violet, sweet spices, tobacco, licorice, and a mineral undertone. On the palate, it reveals noble and well-defined tannins, vibrant freshness, full structure, and a lingering finish that continues to evolve over time. It is a wine of great longevity, designed to be immediately recognized but patiently savored over the years.
Conventional Production Method : The grapes are 100% Nebbiolo, sourced from the winery's "Vigna Rionda" vineyard, located approximately 300 m above sea level on calcareous-marly soil. The vinification is traditional with long-term fermentation and maceration in oak vats, at a temperature of approximately 30°C. The wine is aged for approximately 42 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a further 24 months of bottle ageing before being released for sale.
Pairings: Perfect with rich, complex dishes: roast beef, braised meats, game, roast lamb, and very mature cheeses. Also ideal for moments of contemplation, to be savored slowly and calmly.
