Luciano Sandrone’s Barolo Le Vigne 2020 is an icon of elegance and tradition, a wine that combines the best of four historic Barolo crus: Baudana (Serralunga d’Alba), Villero (Castiglione Falletto), Vignane (Barolo) and Merli (Novello). This garnet red with orange highlights releases a complex bouquet of ripe cherry, dried rose, licorice, tobacco and fine spices, with a hint of undergrowth and minerality. Aged for 24 months in tonneaux, it offers a harmonious and structured palate, with silky tannins and a long and persistent finish, reflecting the balance between power and finesse. The balanced and classic 2020 vintage makes this Barolo a wine of great longevity, with aging potential until 2045, perfect for celebrating special occasions.
Production Method The Nebbiolo grapes come from four historic crus (Baudana, Villero, Vignane, Merli), on clayey-calcareous soils with variable exposures, at 300-400 meters above sea level. Manual harvest in October, fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature (28-30 °C) for 15-20 days, with maceration on the skins to extract structure and complexity. Aged for 24 months in 500-liter French oak tonneaux (20% new), followed by 18 months in the bottle. Production limited to approximately 40,000 bottles.
Pairings : Braised beef in Barolo, game such as roe deer, mature cheeses, white truffle dishes.
