Argiolas 's Is Solinas 2022 is one of the most authentic interpretations of Carignano del Sulcis, a grape variety that is a symbol of southwestern Sardinia. It displays a deep and luminous ruby red. On the nose, it offers an intense, Mediterranean bouquet, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and blackberry, enriched with notes of Mediterranean scrub, sweet spices, and light balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is warm, enveloping, and well-structured, with soft, ripe tannins, a pleasant freshness, and a persistent, harmonious finish. A wine that combines tradition and drinkability, clearly expressing the character of the Sulcis terroir.
Production Method: Conventional. The grapes are 100% Carignano , sourced from vineyards located in the Sulcis area, often grown on sandy, well-ventilated soils that promote healthy fruit and aromatic concentration. The harvest is manual, with careful selection of the bunches. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with maceration on the skins to extract color and structure. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages partly in steel and partly in wood for a limited period, preserving the freshness of the fruit and varietal character. It is then aged in the bottle before release.
Pairings: Ideal with traditional Sardinian dishes: lamb, goat, roast red meats, grilled meats, cured meats, and mature cheeses. Also excellent with savory pasta dishes and rich Mediterranean cuisine.
