The Valpolicella Superiore 2019 Magnum by Roccolo Grassi is a wine that combines elegance and longevity, presented in a format ideal for special occasions or for aging. This intense ruby red with garnet reflections offers a bouquet of black cherry, raspberry and fresh flowers, with spicy notes of cinnamon and black pepper, and a hint of leather and vanilla. Aged for 20 months in wood, it stands out for its broad and balanced palate, with a freshness that makes the sip dynamic and a fruity and persistent finish. The 2019 vintage, concentrated and harmonious, and the Magnum format, which favors a slow evolution, make this wine a work of great refinement, with an aging potential until 2040, perfect for celebrating important moments.

Production Method As for the 0.75 l bottle, the grapes come from the Roccolo Grassi vineyard, 8 hectares with south-east exposure at 200 meters above sea level, on clayey-calcareous soils with volcanic components, with vines aged between 5 and 10 years. Manual harvest at the end of September, with 50% of the grapes dried for 20 days. Fermentation in steel at 28 °C for 15 days, with maceration on the skins. Aged for 20 months, half in French oak barriques (second and third passage) and half in large 22 hl barrels, followed by 10 months in the bottle. The Magnum format (about 3,000 bottles produced) favors a slower and more complex maturation.

Pairings Red meat dishes, light game, mushroom risotto, medium-aged cheeses.
