Tenuta San Leonardo 2020 Magnum is a celebrated Burgundian interpretation of the Piedmontese Bordeaux blend from Trentino, presented in a magnum format to allow for a fuller and more refined evolution. In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby color, evolving toward garnet hues with age. On the nose, it unfolds with elegance and complexity: ripe black fruits such as plum, blackberry, and cherry, accompanied by notes of Alpine herbs, sweet tobacco, damp earth, leather, and delicate spices. On the palate, it captivates with finesse and structure: well-defined yet silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and great balance, culminating in a long and persuasive finish. The magnum version lends a relaxed aromatic evolution, broadening the depth of the tasting experience.
Conventional Production Method . The grapes used are a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenère, and 10% Merlot. The harvest is done manually with rigorous selection of the bunches. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in cement tanks for approximately 12-15 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months: 70% in French barriques and 30% in medium-toasted French oak barrels.
Pairings: Ideal with roast beef, braised meats, game, lamb, truffle-flavored meats, elaborate stews, and mature cheeses. The magnum format is at its best for extended tastings and special occasions.
