Quintarelli 's Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2018 is a wine that blends the depth of the Valpolicella terroir with the refined craftsmanship of the house. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby color verging on garnet. The aroma opens with dark cherry, plum, and black cherry, evolving into more tannic and spicy notes of tar, licorice, and damp earth. On the palate, it emerges with structure, elegance, and depth, with present yet smooth tannins, controlled acidity, and a lingering finish that invites further sips. A wine that combines drinkability with great aging potential, ideal for those seeking pure expressions of the terroir.
Conventional Production Method . The grapes are a blend of approximately 55% Corvina and Corvinone, 30% Rondinella, and 15% Cabernet, Nebbiolo, Croatina, and Sangiovese. The harvest is manual with careful selection of the bunches. Vinification involves maceration on the skins, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and subsequent extended aging in large Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 60 months.
Pairings: Perfect with roast red meats, game, braised meats, truffle-flavored meats, and strong aged cheeses. Also excellent as a meditation wine, when the wine becomes more of a reflection than a simple accompaniment.
