Casanova di Neri’s 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto is a wine of extraordinary depth, a unique expression of the Cerretalto cru, located in a natural amphitheater on the Asso stream. This intense and youthful ruby red releases a complex bouquet of graphite, young red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, dark chocolate, tobacco and balsamic nuances. Aged for 36 months in oak barrels and 24 months in bottle, it offers a broad, vibrant and velvety palate, with well-integrated tannins and a long and deep finish, which suggests a radiant evolution for decades to come. A Brunello of exceptional harmony and personality, which represents the pinnacle of Casanova di Neri’s production and the best of Sangiovese di Montalcino.
Production Method Manual harvest with rigorous selection of the grapes before and after destemming, from a single vineyard with small and sparse bunches of Sangiovese, grown in a natural amphitheater on the Asso stream, with soils rich in minerals and a particular microclimate. Spontaneous fermentation without added yeasts in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats at controlled temperature for 32 days, with manual punching down. Aged for 36 months in Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 24 months of bottle refinement.
Pairings Roast lamb, aged cheeses such as Pecorino Toscano, risotto with porcini mushrooms, game such as wild boar.
