Guido Porro’s 2021 Barolo Lazzairasco comes from the Lazzarito cru, a sunny south-southwest amphitheater known for its intense and structured wines. This garnet red with orange highlights offers a bouquet of black cherry, plum, tar, dried roses and oriental spices, with a hint of leather and volcanic earth. Aged for 30 months in oak barrels, it stands out for its dense and velvety palate, with robust but well-integrated tannins and a long, mineral finish. The 2021 vintage, balanced and fresh, gives this Barolo a complexity that makes it a wine of great longevity, perfect to accompany important dishes or to be stored until 2045.

Production Method The Nebbiolo grapes come from the Lazzairasco vineyard, part of the Lazzarito cru, on clay-limestone soils with marls rich in limestone, at 380 meters above sea level, with south-southwest exposure. Manual harvest in October, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in steel at 28-30 °C for 15-20 days, with prolonged maceration on the skins. Aged for 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 12 months in the bottle. Production limited to approximately 3,500-4,000 bottles.

Pairings : Stewed game, roast red meat, mature cheeses, truffle risotto.
