Bartolo Mascarello’s 2018 Barolo captures the essence of a generous vintage, blending grapes from the Cannubi, San Lorenzo, Ruè and Rocche dell’Annunziata crus. This intense ruby red releases a bouquet of ripe cherry, wilted flowers, tobacco and fine spices. Aged for 32 months in large oak barrels, it offers a soft and enveloping structure, with delicate tannins and a pleasantly long finish. A traditional Barolo that stands out for its accessibility and refinement, with a bright future ahead of it.
Production Method: Conventional, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks for 30-40 days with submerged cap (not used in 2018), maturation 32 months in large Slavonian oak barrels of 25-50 hl, refinement in bottle for at least 12 months
Pairings: Red meats, game, mature cheeses
