Penderyn Madeira is the flagship of the first Welsh distillery in over a century, a single malt that celebrates the revival of whisky in Wales. Distilled in a single Faraday still with a rectifying column, this pale golden liquid offers a fresh and inviting bouquet of creamy toffee, ripe fruit, raisins and a delicate hint of vanilla, resulting from the maturation in ex-Madeira casks after initial maturation in bourbon casks. The palate is crisp and well-balanced, with a sweetness that intertwines with a pleasant dryness, leaving lingering notes of tropical fruit and light spice. An elegant and approachable whisky, the winner of numerous awards, reflecting the purity of the Brecon Beacons spring water and the craftsmanship of Penderyn.
Production Method Artisan distilled in a single column Faraday still with purifier, using malted barley and Brecon Beacons spring water. Initial maturation in ex-bourbon American oak casks, followed by maturation in ex-Madeira casks to enrich the flavour profile. Bottled at 46% abv without chill filtration to preserve the natural oils and complexity.
