A26 is the Chardonnay from the Antinori family's Californian estate in the Napa Valley: the name recalls the family's twenty-six generations. The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards on the volcanic soils of the Atlas Peak district. The nose shows honeysuckle, lemon, white peach and almond; the palate is medium- to full-bodied, round yet fresh, with a long finish.
Production method: Picked in the cool early-morning hours and soft-pressed. Fermented and aged for seven months in new French oak barriques; only part of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation, to preserve freshness.
Food pairings: Shellfish, lobster, baked fish, white meats.
