Luciano Sandrone's Barbera d'Alba 2022 is a wine that celebrates the richness and versatility of Barbera, grown in the municipalities of Barolo and Monforte d'Alba. This intense ruby red with purple hues offers an enveloping bouquet of ripe cherry, blackberry, violet and sweet spices, with a hint of vanilla from the wood aging. On the palate it is full-bodied and well-balanced, with a lively freshness that balances the richness of the fruit, soft tannins and a long and slightly spicy finish. The fresh and generous 2022 vintage gives this Barbera an elegance that makes it perfect to accompany succulent dishes or to be enjoyed on its own, with an aging potential of 5-7 years.
Production Method The Barbera grapes come from vineyards in the municipalities of Barolo and Monforte d'Alba, on clayey-calcareous soils, at 300-350 meters above sea level. Manual harvest at the end of September, fermentation in steel at 28-30 °C for 10-12 days, with maceration on the skins to extract color and structure. Aged for 12 months in French oak barriques (20% new) and tonneaux, followed by 6 months in the bottle. Production of approximately 25,000 bottles.
Pairings Grilled meat, pasta with ragù, sautéed mushrooms, medium-aged cheeses such as Castelmagno.
